Prince William School’s Libby Wins Place at Prestigious West End Stage School

A pupil from Prince William School in Oundle has secured a place at a prestigious stage school after wowing judges with her audition.

Libby Kushniruk will be trained by top West End performers in subjects including dance, drama and musical theatre at the Peterborough-based stage school, which she’ll attend once a month.

The judges were so impressed with the Year 9 student’s dance audition that that she’s been placed in the category above her age group, meaning she’ll be training with 16 to 18 year olds.

Libby, 13, who plans to study GCSE dance and drama at Prince William School next year, said: “After my audition, I couldn’t stop smiling. The judges told my mum they hadn’t ever seen anyone with so much passion for dance.

“This is going to be an amazing opportunity for me to be trained by West End performers. It will be a great path to what I want to do when I’m older, which is to perform in the West End and become a dance teacher.”

Libby, who also attends the Anderson School of Dance in Kettering, says she has been dancing since she was two-years-old.

Niki Marks, head of performing arts at Prince William School, said: “It’s a really great achievement for Libby to have won a place at this stage school. She is a beautiful and accomplished dancer, especially for someone of her age, and I know she’ll do brilliantly.”
